The North Yorkshire Moors Railway has annouced it will be hosting no. 60009 'Union of South Africa' for the very last time before the engine's retirement in 2019.
Visitors to the NYMR next spring will be the last passengers ever to experience the iconic 60009 Union of South Africa, before she retires from service. Union of South Africa will be placed in a museum alongside 61994 ‘The Great Marquess’ in Fife, Scotland upon her retirement next year.
The locomotive will be hauling passenger services from Grosmont on the 30, 31 March & 2, 3, 4, 6 & 7 April 2019. Tickets go on sale today with more information such as timetables to be announced soon.
