The eleventh run of the annual "Great Britain" railtour got under way on Thursday 19th April 2018 with a run down the East Coast Main Line going via Cambridge, Peterborough and Spalding to Scarborough behind no 60103 "Flying Scotsman". Publicity, with timings concealed from the general public, was minimal, as it was on the Friday when the famous machine took the train back from Scarborough to York, much to the surprise of a local farmer at Strensall! The A3 was relieved at York by the latest steam celebrity, no 35018 "British India Line" on its third public outing. The engine arrived either early or bang on time at all its stops and regained time lost due to late running service trains and exhibited no sign of the steam leaks which had bedevilled its early runs. This, of course, might simply be a result of the weather - this was the second of a record few days of hot sunshine for April! But, we have a new star loco . . . .
