Of the three surviving steam locos used (out of four) on the famous "Fifteen Guinea Special" of 11th August 1968 only one has a current main line "ticket". Whilst no 45110 was displayed "cold" on the Severn Valley Railway and no 70013 "Oliver Cromwell" was confined to heritage lines on 11th August 2018 Stanier "Black 5" no 44871 was working light engine from Fort William to the SRPS base at Bo'ness. This was so the engine could work an SRPS charter the following day from Linlithgow out across the Forth and round the Fife Circle before running over the foreshortened Waverley Route to its current terminus at Tweedbank. Here we see it departing from Dunfermline after picking up passengers before going clockwise around the Circle.
